We don't need anybody to like me, but to delete this is just ignorant and now you are the bad guy.

Yvette, she bought a 2.25 carat diamond for 2160$
How do I do this math, dollar per carat?

Simplify:
25•(2/3)exponent 3 (1/3)exponent 2

2/3+5/12•3/120

7/9-(3/10)(4/9)÷1/3

Turns out my college course ain't need none math.

Okay braden, I'm pretty sure even you should have known this first one. $2160 divided by 2.25 carats is $960/carat.

As for the simplifications, the first one has fluffed up formatting, so I'm not sure what it actually is, and so I can't simplify it.

The second one, 5/12 times 3/120 is 15/1440 because you multiply fractions straight across, which simplifies to 1/96 and to add 2/3, you find the lowest common denominator. In this case, it's 96, so you multiply 2 by 96/3 and you get 64/96, and when you add 1/96 you get 65/96.

Finally, 3/10 times 4/9 is 12/90 because 3 times 4 is 12 and 9 times 10 is 90. this simplifies to 2/15. To divide this by 1/3, I'd just flip it and multiply by 3/1. So you get 6/15, which simplifies to 2/5. To subtract 2/5 from 7/9 you need to find the lowest common denominator. AFAICT it's 45, so you get 35/45 minus 18/45 which is 17/45, and I don't see a way to simplify further.

Any questions young padawan?

No calculators allowed.

How does a nine year old multiply 2160 by 2.25. The decimal is fluffing me up, to be honest.

Message me your email or text number and I will send you a picture of the formula.

I have 18 of 25 correct but as a practice I can take home but for the actual test I won't be able to ask or use a calculator. I am on chapter two of twelve.

I do not need this credit to carry on my college course. I think it can only help. Unless I slit my throat because I can't buy a gun to put a bullet through my head.

You'll only overdose on meth is you shoot it or ingest it. Stick to smoking it and you're golden!

As for the math, I can do it by hand with a lot of scratch paper. However, I've been told that the way I do divison like that is incredibly confusing to everyone but me, so I'm not sure I'll be of much help to you on that one. Unfortunately for you, I am just innately good at doing math in my head and recognizing patterns.

Perhaps you can google long division and it may be of some help.

You mean divide right? The questions asking you to divide lol. There are a few ways to do it.. but if you're afraid of decimals maybe the easiest way is to turn 2.25 into a fraction (9/4) then eliminate denominators by multiplying 9/4 by 4 and 2160 by 4 to get 8640 / 9 then long division it up.

9 goes into 8 0 times
Drop the 8 down, subtract 8-0=8 then drop the 6 down.
9 goes into 86 9 times, add a 9 up top, subtract 9*9 from 86 to get remainder 5
Drop the 4 down, 9 goes into 54 6 times, remainder 0. Add a 6 up top. Since 9 won't divide into 0 and there's no remainder then you just add a final 0 up top to get 960

Is 25•(2/3)exponent 3 (1/3)exponent 2 supposed to be 25*(2/3)^3*(1/3)^2?

If so, multiply the exponents out... 2/3*2/3=4/9*2/3=8/27

1/3*1/3=1/9

25*8/27=200/27*1/9=200/243
Which can't be simplified any further

or about 0.823 and a whole bunch of numbers after :P

Zorp got the other 2
