I have to admit, sadly, that I have no idea what to do when it comes to web development, so I've stayed as far away from the Earth wiki as possible. However, I do use Wikipedia to get information quickly when I don't want to spend time with actual research. I have a suggestion: Go to Wikipedia and make a webpage for the game, with the Earth wiki added as an "additional link" (beside the game link, the Boxcar / other clan sites links, etc.) to bring in more people.

You might have to fight the deletionists to keep it up there, of course, but there's at least a chance that it might stay there...

While Slag pointed out the specifics, I should mention that, if you're at war, your opponents will be able to see that you're online when you log on because of the nice yellow smiley faces on your forum posts, so you'll give away your KR times in the minute or so that you wait for everyone to get organized on IRC unless you manually log out of the forum after logging on to the portal.

That said, I think this might have been fixed recently. I haven't paid too much attention since last set's Team war.

Cross-tag retalling, as you say, is not acceptable. If the kill is the retal, no one really likes that either. Kills are usually let off because other clans most often view them as wars, rather than retals, but unless every retal puts RD at war with the clan it's hitting (officially, I mean), it's going to catch flak.

Not that that wouldn't catch flak either, of course, but I'm just trying to clarify the difference as I see it.

I'm not sure that pointing out BC and AD really helps you, since the designation was not universally accepted due to Jesus being born in 1 AD, but rather because the Church insisted on its use several hundred years later. Yet, even when we discuss BC or AD in the context you describe, the influence of the Church at that time is rarely touched on--nor should it be, as it's old news no matter how important it was and is to our modern world.

I think this is really the heart of the matter. While untaggeds apparently have no rights in the eyes of clans, I think that works in reverse also: Clans have no rights in the eyes of untaggeds. It then becomes a game of endurance to see who blinks first, the untaggeds that keep getting killed or the clans that get tired of being ankle-bitten.

I'd be surprised if it's the clans, but if the untaggeds can manage it, they have my support.

The last time Israel occupied Sinai, they found it to be strategically disadvantageous. Not really sure why, but I think it was just because it hadn't been called for in their original plans and they weren't prepared to hold it.

Both sides have a point, and I think the easiest way to split the difference is to say, simply, that HYPOCRISY is the real problem. The dictators named above are bad, no one disputes this. Americans arming some of those dictators to counter others of those dictators is also bad, but there is relevance to the argument that it is the lesser evil in some of those cases. The problem is that the American government likes to completely ignore the fact that it's treading into morally ambiguous territory in favor of a worldview that's black and white, in which there can be no question that America is blindingly white.

I have a suggestion: Get rid of nationalism altogether. In that way I agree with TAN completely: No life is worth more or less than another's because of nationality. To say otherwise invites hypocrisy: "This will save many [insert your nationality here] lives," at the cost of many other nationalities' lives, deaths which are often ignored or unknown at best and purposely whitewashed at worst. I would be a lot more forgiving if politicians would be open about the consequences of their actions, rather than trying to brush it under the rug. But of course that's a pipe dream.

No offense, but you have to know that giving your pass out at every opportunity is just inviting someone who doesn't agree with you to sneak into your tag and screw you over.
