Resi tech does have some benefits, namely it increases population slightly to make the country a litter harder to kill. I see no reason for a change.

Also, civilians increase networth a little.

It would slowly and most certainly work more detrimentally with every passing week. At 60-70k land, a landgrab really hurts, usually taking 1-2 days at the minimum to recover from.

With the topfeeding going on, we were gonna spend all our time landtrading, only to get hit by a topfeed and get 1/4 as much back as was lost.

It was already happening. There was a grab of 2400 acres on one of the top SemperFi countries and around 1200 acres was retalled back. We would never have gotten a country to 1m acres without being topfed.

gambit, I farmed myself at the beginning of the set which is why I couldnt drop land to make sdi more effective. If I had 12k acre dicts or anything else, a lot more of my countries would have been alive. SemperFi never had any intention to war for most of the set before the war.

SemperFi had every intention to net this server. The war idea was only thought of a little before the FS. One of the biggest inaccuracies told by NBK is that SemperFi wanted to war from the start. As several logs and messages on certain message boards will confirm, a netting set was the goal.

30 dict is nothing for a clan with 415 countries so dont use that as evidence that SemperFi was preparing for a war from the start.

I, myself, am the person who is running the big theos in SemperFi. Do you think I would have run theos if I was certain or even suspected that war would happen?

The records I am trying to compile would include everything that the leaderboards show. NW, Land, Most Deaths per set, etc.

Luckily, NW and land are confirmable for the past records, but the other stats are impossible to verify, even if you say it's true since a Wiki must be sourced to the primary data if such data exists (which it does).

I did see that qm diver holds the record for the most deaths in a set for players who have revealed their profiles, but with so many people unrevealed, that also cant be confirmed.

This happens to be something I agree with completely. It doesn't have to be retroactive, but everything in the future should be publicly available.

In another note, I was trying to compile a list of records for the Wiki, but was prevented from doing so by the massive number of "enabled privacy options". All that I am sure of is that llaar ran the country with the highest land and NW, though in an era with different rules. If it says that the country "Drinks" got the highest NW last set, it is still uncorfirmable since it doesn't necessarily mean that the player Drinks was the person who ran that account. (While it can actually be confirmed that llaar did have the highest land since only he has a land total exceeding 90 million)

Parishashabad, Capital of Northern Eurabian Caliphate State
----------------------------------------------------------------

PARISHASHABAD - Latest population figures put the population of Eurabia at 1 billion, a feat only achieved by two other countries in history. According to estimates by the UN, there were an estimated 400-450 million people in the Northern Caliphate Division, 250-350 million in the North African Caliphate Division, and at least 350 million in the Central Umaah. The population growth has occurred nothwithstanding a massive famine that has ravaged Eurabia for the past decade.

Despite the starvation of most of its people, the Caliphate has continued spending most of its funds on the military. On January 12, the caliph trumpeted out one of its regional militia leaders to discuss the topic of the importance of military.

"Throughout history, the Umaah has been measured based on its ability to conquer others. Muslim lands have never expanded without the sword. Just as Mohammed conquered Medinah, so shall we conquer Germany and Great Britian. Those infidel states have resisted joining the Great Caliphate. They have prevented the rightful settlement of their lands by our people. The wait of twenty years for a Muslim majority to emerge in Germany is far too long. Soon the missiles will rain down on their cities and we will march into their capital."

Teching has been, in general, the best netting strategy as well as a good warring strat. I see this only as a market correction.

Another factor could be the lower number of players this set, leaving only the better players who are more likely to be techer.

Protests in Spain ends with the resignation of the government
------------------------------------

It was Andulusia in the ages past and now it is Andulusia again. Shouting "Sharia, Sharia, Sharia", millions of protestors who had camped in more than eighty locations through the capital of Madridah have finally achieved their objective: the resignation of the democratically elected Spanish government.

In a live televised broadcast, Prime Minister Abdul acknowledged that the current form of government was incompatible with Sharia. Though he was the second Muslim Prime Minister, many had seen his policies as too accommodating to Christians and members of other faiths.

The head imam of the country agreed.

"The Caliphate has one leader with one shura council. They cannot be elected by regular Muslims, but must be selected based on religious knowledge. The election of Christian representatives in smaller rural districts in Spain to be part of the national government, preventing an implementation of Sharia is against the teachings of the religion of peace. We must follow the footsteps of our brothers in Parishashabad and unify with the Great Eurabian Caliphate".

His words echoed among the protesters.

Standing on the buckling steps leading of the Royal Mosque of Madrid, which used to be the palace of King Juan Carlos who died under mysterious circumstances in 2022, lead protestor Mohammed Shad gloated to the roaring crowd - "The apostate prime minister is no more. Tomorrow, the caliph will step in the land which rightfully belongs to us. He will triumphantly step into the Moncloa Palace and tear up the apostate constitution, just as he did in Parishashabad nine years ago as well as in Bruxellia, Amsterbad, Islamenhagen, and Mohammedholm."

Gunfire was heard in the streets throughout the day, and fires burned in what remained of the ancient Gothic buildings of the city.

In the northern coast of spain, several abandoned cruise ships were reported to be loaded with elder Spanish who wanted to escape to the United States, but President Lamar Obsanjie spoke through his Chief of Staff Jose Gonzales that the United States was unable to accept any more refugees.

"We are a nation of immigrants, but recent years have brought too many people to our shores. Those Spanish, French, Dutch, and Swedes are generally too old for any manual labor. Social Security and other forms of social assistance are only for established minorities who suffered discrimination for centuries and are rightfully being given reparations."

He refused to address the more pressing issue of food shortages which have been plaguing most of the country, and instead decided to continue his focus on foreign policy.

"What we are seeing is the democratic process at work. The people of Spain have spoken, and soon the people of Great Britain and Germany will also speak. They will make the decisions which is best for their country."

Eurabia is likely form within 30 years with the capital being either Londonistan or Parishashabad.

The latter is somewhat more likely due to being in the mainland of the future Northern Caliphate Eurabian State. The possibility of Parishashabad being the capital is bolstered by the fact that France will become an Islamic State first, in around 2029.

Not long after, the other Eurabian states will unify under the banner of Islam. Spanning several continental masses, from Madridah to Istanbul, from Helsinki'a to Mogadishu, the new caliphate will impose sharia law on all those living under the green crecent.

Flash Foward to May 5, 2029. Second Round of the French Presidential Election
--------------------------------------------------------

Today it has finally happened. A great European nation embodying centuries of the grandest scientific inventions, site of the momentous Battle of Tours which saved Christianity, positioned at the forefront of Western civilization- is no more. The vaunted citizens of the "La lumière du monde" have voted to merge with the new Turkish caliphate.

When it happened, it surprised no one. The people of France had long since acquired the culture and religion of Morocco and Algeria- which as we all know- united with Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Turkey a decade ago to form the Hamzahad Caliphate.

Stepping into the buckling La Défense RER subway station, long since abandoned and taken over by squatters, one can see in the dim light percolating through derelict ceiling tiles... a massive underground community that spreads into the tunnels which used to form the core of Parishashabad's subway system...

Looking through a pile of garbage, one can find torn pages of books from the recently closed Bibliothèque nationale de France. One crumpled page dated 1976 shows a French girl, her golden hair waving in the wind in Reims with the the spires of the cathedral in the background. As we all know, neither exists now. Few know that the cathedral is now the Mosque of Muhammed al-Mazen. And, of course, no girl looks like the one in the picture as people of that kind merged with the explosive immigrant populations from both the so-called "Sub-saharan Afrique" and the Arab world.

On May 5th, those people came out voting en mass. Fifteen million total votes were cast by the estimated 24 to 31 million eligible voters of Parishashabad. Many of the elder French were unable to vote due to rioting which centered in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 17th arrondissements. Reports of intimidation has been widespread. Calls from the Eiffel Minaret, the tallest in Europe, for an orderly election process was not heeded. An unknown number of ballot stuffing complaints, made mostly by elderly French, was reported despite the deployment of UN election officials to around 2000 randomly selected voting booths.

Two weeks later, the UN declared a resounding victory for the Caliph of Turkey, the first time in history that one nation has voted for the head of state of another country. Within 24 hours, the Sénat confirmed the decision to disband all national political organs. Top generals were replaced by generals selected by the caliph. A Nigerian Muslim was selected to the head of all national historical sites.

Perhaps the Battle of Tours wasn't so decisive after all.

A lot of people believe that private market destock is too strong. Therefore, I propose something that will hardly hurt resellers, but will be very realistic and weaken the sudden massive destock that a lot of people make near the end.

-Lower amount of private market goods to 1/3 its original value. Prices are essentially the same as the private used now and regeneration is also the same, but 1/3 as much.

-Once a unit is bought out, a "Tier 2" private market for this item appears with prices TBD% higher. All other values such a regeneration remain the same.

-Once Tier 2 is bought out, a "Tier 3" occurs. Same as above.

This change will alleviate many of the issues of the massive private market destock which is seen near the end of each set.

Military bases will gradually increase the size of the lowest cost private market until it is three times as large, which will ensure that resellers dont suffer.

I decided conclusively on five of the ten most important dates in recorded history- and then chose two more later. The second set of dates has been included on October 24 after careful research. Dates added to the second set are marked as such. There are three more dates to be added.
-
September 2, 31 B.C. Conclusion of the Battle of Actium which eventually led to the founding of the Roman Empire, which laid the foundation of the modern world.
-
October 10, 732. Battle of Tours, the most decisive battle between Islam and Christianity, where the latter won. If the battle had been lost, Islam would certainly be the dominant religion today with only the survival of Hinduism, Buddhism, and various Eastern religions.
-
July 15, 1215. Magna Carta recorded, the foundation for Western law.
-
May 29, 1453. Fall of Constantinople. If the Muslims had not defeated the Byzantine Empire, Islam would very likely remain a relatively minor regional religion similar to Shinto or Taoism.
-
July 14, 1789. Storming and fall of Bastille. Before this event, the power of the King remained absolute. This event greatly enboldened the revolutionaries and led the king to back down and eventually abdicate. Also led to the rise of Napoleon. (date added Oct 24 by author)
-
August 3, 1798. Battle of the Nile. This less famous of Admiral Nelson's battle had a larger effect than Trafalgar. Napoleon was close to conquering the Middle East and North Africa which would mean an almost certain victory over all of Europe. However, this defeat directly caused his land armies to lose the important Siege of Acre, causing him to withdraw. (date added Oct 24)
-
November 9, 1923. Beer Hall Putsch. Later solidified Hitler's rise to power.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Other dates considered but not chosen, usually because the event itself was the final culmination of a greater trend with many causes. While the outcome of the events above clearly had a major impact overall, the below triggered events which seemed to be inevitable anyways.

-Battle of Trafalgar. While very important, Napoleon had clearly decided not to invade England before the battle. This is the event that I had to consider closest, since it did arguable create the disastrous continental blockade which hurt the economy of France. But, such a system would likely have been created no matter what happened.
-Invention of the cotton gin, industrial revolution. No single event caused the industrial revolution, and the causes are debated to this day. The innovations of this period were symptom rather than causes of the industrial revolution.
-Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, which set off World War I. The system of alliances was leading to war, which was inevitable.
-September 11th attacks. Another event that had to be considered closely, but saying this attack being the top 10 events would be giving undue weight to recent events. Also, the true effects of September 11 on world history are still unclear.

I think the following would be highly useful as part of the custom column section

-Number of each building, including unused land
-Amount of each tech with percentage
-Number of turns remaining until cash/food crisis
-No. of hours before expiration of bonus points

It's just been a case of having lots of new players join ffa, explaining the increase in suiciders.

FFA has been steadily expanding in the past several sets.
