I think its just a deficiency this set. Many players i know who run oilers built for war with techers and stuff this set. My guess is this is only the beginning unless someone has a few they're holding back on to regulate the market.

It was over 500 for 6 weeks the last time we warred. 800+ the set after before our netters started protecting oil prices. It wouldnt shock me in the least...

Fortunately you can actually oversupply the market with just one good string of fatty fascs. There's more netters on the server than there was ~2 years ago and quite a few fascs that could adapt and capitalize and balance tho. So there's a chance it levels out.
