Or stop putting a target on your back by using DeathFromAbove as your country name. There are plenty of people who will target that name on this server...... particularly with your double-tap = kill (whilst hiding like a coward in GDI) policy.

I didn't target him until he tried to insult me. I intended to spread out the pain, but after that, I certainly treated him like farmland. The country name did make it fairly easy to make connections, though.

I DO NOT LAND GRAB PEOPLE THAT PLAY THIS GAME. i only retal. and if anyone is stupid enough to hit me more than once in a round they can expect to have pain or die. hitting people multiple times drives them away from this game. if you were new and trying to learn and the top players farmed you and you could do next to nothing about it, would you stick around? No! so they made bots. before bots i would farm anyone i could to get land. that was years ago. as soon as bots were introduced, i quickly learned that hitting people has only negative reprecussions.

yeah, look at me, I am not a coward and stand by my country name. I have won probably 50 Express rounds. I have killed about the same. I have won alliance and team and tournament too. I have made many a friend, especially in Express.

please explain your stance to me. how is me being in gdi and NOT hitting people a bad thing? it is not like I go around double tapping people and have some sort of double standard.

I agree with eberto's comments and specifically about people quitting the game. From someone who played this game 25 years ago, there is only a fraction of the people playing today versus back then that I can see. Sure, gaming has evolved and garnered a larger audience with the more popular games. But just like old Space Invaders; nostalgia and "old school" gaming always has a place in the hearts of some. Anyway, for those of you that have been double, triple or even quadruple tapped... lesson learned my friends. Dont get too fat and if you do, make sure you have the military to defend or, do whatmany do.. make a note of those countries you need to pay a visit to. Maybe not immediately, but soon enough, go knock on their door and get yo thangs :) Less than 32 hours left.. Good luck to all!

It's funny how people get mad when GDI stops them from blindsiding netting countries. GDI is doing exactly what it should. Minimizing damage from griefers and suiciders.

u may not be dead, but you have no production. it is surprisingly difficult when it is 2 on 1. I killed 1 aggressor but turns become an issue when 2 idiots attack you relentlessly.

Yes, you are correct.. I think 1997 is what you are referring to. This was before that and I apologize, but I do not remember what it was called (might have been the BRE as Squirrel mentions, but without my old computer, I have no way of verifying). However, you are correct, the game, as we know it, was on the Utopia or Swirve platform. (I think it was Utopia back in 97)

Suiciders quit all the time... I have made several of them change name, quit and/or play differently. A few months from now this server will be calm and nice again.

Maybe I will go for NW record again then or perhaps break my own land record if no one else does in the meantime (the only one who tried so far was too incompetent, as you know)

I'm not a suicider ;) I didn't hit a single real player until someone took me out, and was hoping for a good mile marker reset.

The way I see it you hide your forum name, or you hide your country in game. Neither one is less "fluff" than the other.

I have been 'wrestling' with this conundrum for a while. I think I've finally realised I don't give a fluff about any of it.

I do think there is still fun to be had with the game though :)

Difference is that it takes 10% the effort or less to destroy someones game ingame as it takes to play well so its autoloss for a player like me who intends to win or get NW record or land record every set I play seriously. I don't play to give griefers a good time, I play to have fun and having fun when I have time to means crunching numbers and netting, not warring with someone I could beat in this game 99-100 times out of 100 in war or in netting.

On the forum if you can't back up your words with your name it means they are worth nothing at all, because you have no reason at all to hide who you are except if you have something to say that you can't stand for.

I think people would believe the outrage a little bit more if it were extended to people outside your circle.
