Also what is the definition of a rainbow? 3 building types over 20% enough? 4 over 15%?

As long as one is not forced to tech with less than 2/3rds labs I think t5 should be possible.

I did an equal distribution of all types of buildings and made sure to tech as much as possible before I inevitably got suicided on

Obviously, that is the hardcore version. 3 with 20% would be easy to finish well... 4 with 15% would be ok... I think to be truly rainbow you need a challenge though. I guess 4 with 15% and 2 of those building types being research facilities and military bases would be pretty hardcore.

I am allergic to teching with less than 60% labs. Can't do it, wont do it. The MBs could be fine. I'd actually enjoy that.

Yep 60-70 max unless a conversion , eh also depends on if you got max turns as an indy and not enough cash on hand to burn them.... build some cs just so you build more military to sell. Eh its really all in all player and strat type dependent.

the funniest part was he was online while being killed and still managed to die. like all u gotta do is have 5 turns and it is nearly impossible to die. but he failed hardcore.

Playing devil's advocate, but you can wall sure. Once you get down to them attrition 10 citizens max per BR for 2 turns but it takes you 1 turn for 20(?) citizens.

However you have to be online and playing the entire time. Not everyone hits the refresh every few minutes.

1 turn gains 40 civs or more. 1 br is 10 civs. a chem is 25. either way, he was on and chromed me 2 times instead of walling at all.

Yeah. If you are at 10 civ sends (on br. 5 for gs) your gains will be 40 civ per turn but can raise very quickly especially if tax rate is dropped to 0%. They come up very quick with the low rate.

Bioterrorism ops will cut the gains in half. So when running into a wall, its always sensible to stop minimize civilian gains from your enemy by doing some bios. And if you ever find yourself walling. Be sure to drop your tax rate for the opposite effect!

Other note. If you look at what your enemy is losing per hit and times it by 25 you can see what they are sending (assuming no medi). Its more effective to burn their turns by being sure you don't buy more than 6x what they are sending and having them hit a slaughter instead of bouncing hits.

correct you wanna wall at 5 for gs and 10 for br. you only get to 41 civ/turn at like 1350 pop(at 0% tax rate) at which point you will be losing more, or far more than the minimum civs.

I think the definition of rainbow should be that you 'have at least 4 building types other than CS, each of which are more than you got from grabbing and no 2 building types make up more than 2/3 of your buildings in total.'

So you can't be rainbow with like 5% rigs or farms on a casher, you would need like 34% ICs+other.
