It's going to take him ~10 turns to undo the civilian losses that you just gave him.

If you're going to kill someone on a solo server, and especially express. You have to catch them off guard and do it all in one attack. That's your best bet.

He hit you once, you recalled twice.

I was double tapped and then recalled to have the spastic 4x tap me amongst a few others. Half know your feel except this was your own fault.

Hitting someone back who is strong enough to land four more blows doesn't strike me as too good an idea.

Need I say more? The others can expect their retal soon. Not to mention I have 10 missiles already stocked. So, if I get too bored I'm likely to empty them.

BTW: The 1022A doesnt reflect the dictator ghost acre bonus. I got about 1800A from it all.

I don't know if this target is strong enough to land four blows on you but if he is then your choice of target was poor. I suspect there were far better targets available to you but maybe I'm wrong. Quite a coincidence, though, that the best target happened to be the country you were so keen to hit back at.

As to the land, well you gave up the use of it to #90 very early while the time during which you have use of the land you grab now is getting less all the time.

Sometimes I don't understand this game...

Hit someone who can retal me only if I sell lots of turrets (which I did).

Took the chance to sell def but still have enough to make it hard, figured this was ok since I have 300k spies and he has 2700.. No failed ops on me and he breaks... Hmm... Did not have the turns or money to buy up big and hope.

Not everyone spies to do a break. I'm not sure about other players, but as a dictator, I don't even bother spying before RETAL. What's the point, when you have 125% military bonus, 150% PS bonus and 140% weapons tech? You could be 100% turrets it doesn't matter.

Consider the following:
Country A has 3mil net.

Country B has 2 mil net.
Country B has 1.2 jets.
1.2 mil * 1.5 * 1.25 * 1.4 = 3150000 jets. That's more than Country A's networth. (People don't realise the multiplicative military bonus dictators get) It's extremely useful when combined with weapons tech.

For an example:
Same scenario without weapons tech
1.2 mil * 1.5 * 1.25 = 2250000 jets.

And for non-dictators:
1.2 mil * 1.5 = 1800000 jets.

Defensively- a dictator nullifies a PS by having 120% weapons tech provided his attacker has 100% weapons tech.

With all this Dictator preaching, I expect a damn top 10 Celphi!

People spy to do a break primarily to

A) Send less jets so as to have remainder jets to do another PS.
B) Use less oil.
C) Suffer less jet losses that can be avoided by just sending the bare minimum amount to break.
D) Figure out if the target has the ability to retal, war, or otherwise is a skilled player or a new player by looking at the country setup.

I'll admit I spy EVERY target for the reasons listed here... In other servers I spy to look at alliance cost to see if I need to figure in allies.

Yes, spying helps in those regards in most situations; however, if you're a top-feeding (from retals) dictator w/ 140% weaps tech, it's pointless to spy. A rule which has worked for me nicely is to PS with 40% of their net.

For an example:
Target: 4 mil net

4 * .40 = 1.6

Send 1.6 mil jets on PS

1.6 * 1.25 * 1.5 * 1.4 = 4.2 mil jets (after you multiple attack bonuses)

(Sent jets) * (dictator bonus) * (planned strike bonus) * (weapons tech) = successful retal to topfeeder.

Additional note-

If you see in news that they are really scrapping the bottom with bottom feeding- then they are probably turret heavy- so you would then adjust 40% to 60%.

It is bottom feeders (on the Alliance server) who don't spy. The occasional bounce doesn't much matter (as long as it IS occasional) and the loss of military from oversending is also no big deal when the number of units is small.
