I *know* that they existed in Earth:2025. I routinely used and abused them the last year of E:2025. Can someone please direct me to a method of checking country histories for that last year of old Earth, so I can once and for all prove to you that they existed?

I mean countries would have a reduced DR amount after 12 hours and 18 hours.

E.g. returns would often be better on a country hit 8 times within 24 hours (but zero hits within 18 hours) than an equivalent country hit 5-6 times within the past 6 hours. Usually the "reduced" DRs would go back into full DRs after just a couple of hits, but it was an interesting way to skeeve a few extra acres.

This was the closest I could manage to find to old DR formulas, all the old sites that hosted them seem to have disappeared :-(

I do seem to remember countries coming partially out of DR's after 12 hours though, and again @ 18. I have no idea what the rates were though, or what the formulas were either.

jolt's earth-forums are still at jolt although search can't find those and beltz has made available both mehul's and jolt's boards.

I don't think the whole partial DR thing ever became public knowledge (and I certainly have no idea what the formulas are), so old forums aren't really what I'm looking for.

What I am looking for is actual country histories/news from the last ~year of E2025. That way I could take a look at my own countries' history/news to actually find some evidence, rather than everyone here thinking I'm the resident kook.

That's exactly what I'm trying to ask about. I think that evidence is available if anyone has the news/histories of countries for the last half dozen sets of Earth2025 or so.

It used to be available by manually modifying a url in boxcar. Not sure if it still is.

Anyway, we really don't want to make DR more complicated unless there's a really good reason to do so. The system is too complicated as it is. Why add "partial DRs"? is there a balance issue? Does it make the game better?

I don't know if it's "better", but I'd like to confirm that that was the old case. I don't know that the system is "too complicated as it is". I liked the fact about Earth2025 that formulas weren't always readily apparent, and in order to create a successful strategy one would have to think outside the box and get creative.


Does anyone know how this mysterious url in boxcar gets modified? I'd still like to check on it.
